Homemade glue?

I'm back! I had almost forgotten about deviantart, but the summer is here and I suddenly have a lot of free time.
I'm itching to start drawing again and will be posting my art here much more often (I hope). I have a lot of ideas about what to draw and make, but for one of my projects I'm going to need a lot of glue... Unfortunately I am a student and therefore only have a meagre student budget to work with, so I wondered if anyone had any advice on how to make some homemade glue?
Has anyone had any experience with this?
I know one person suggested flour + water but does this work?
